Hi, I'm Juneen Dippenaar

Wag-n-Bietjie Residence

Welcome to my Miss Wag-n-Bietjie SRCS project for 2022

My name is Juneen Dippenaar and I am a finalist for Miss Wag-n-Bietjie. I am a student at Potchefstroom University. I am studying LLB and reside in Wag-n-Bietjie ladies residence. I am proud to call this residence my home away from home and thus decided to compete in the Miss Wag-n-Bietjie competition. A big part of why I decided to join this competition is because of the SRCS( Student Rag Community Service) project that we get to run. We get to choose our own project that revolves around helping our community in any way and to be a part of something bigger than yourself.

What is my project?

Since 2021, when I first heard about this project, I knew exactly what my project would be. I wanted to be a voice for those who do not have one, those who have done no wrong and who only have love in their hearts. I am of course referring to our Furry companions.

Why this project?

In 2021 I saw a pup gruesomely mistreated, I could not believe that a person could be so inhumane as to hurt an animal who has done no wrong, who asks nothing but to be loved. Luckily there are people who care, I care. Yet these local orginisations don't always have the necessities to keep helping those who need it, but that's where this project comes in and where I need your help.

Who I am working with?

I am working with my local SPCA (Brakpan) as well as PAWS in Potchefstroom to help them stock up on some of the necessities that are needed to help our furry friends.

Things that are needed:
Food (dog and cat)
Blankets

How you can help?

You can help by either donating these yourself or making a cash donation and I will purchase what is needed. Even a small amount will help a pup in need.

Remember

They are only there for part of our live, while we are there for their whole life, if they are lucky. So give them that extra treat, spend 10 more minutes on their walk, give them as many belly rubs as you can and make the most out of your time together. When thinking of these words I always think of those pups and kittens who don't get to experience such love and I want to change that.
